South East Kelowna is perhaps the most naturally beautiful and peaceful area in Kelowna because of its rural setting. Serene forests, gorgeous vineyards, and breathtaking canyons surround South East Kelowna real estate. But despite nature being right outside your doorstep, you'll only have to drive for about 10 to 15 minutes to reach downtown Kelowna via Gordon Drive, K.L.O. Road, or Casorso Road. More About South East Kelowna Real Estate
South East Kelowna homes for sale are magnificently situated in between orchards, golf courses, wineries, and tall trees that create an extremely tranquil atmosphere to live in. Mission Creek serves as the area's natural border, as it wraps around most of the community, with Gallagher's Canyon golf course sitting at the eastern edge, DeHart and Crawford Road providing the western border, and the vast Myra Canyon Provincial Park at the south end.
The family-friendly subdivisions and quiet, clean streets throughout South East Kelowna are ideal for any type of home buyer. Spacious single-family homes with more than 2,000 square feet on interior living space are the norm here, not to mention the lush lawns and generously sized yards. These homes vary in age, from traditional houses built in the 1970s and 80s to new construction homes near golf courses, all of which are generally priced in the $600,000 to $900,000 range.
However, if you're looking for a sprawling luxury home with well over 3,000 square feet that sits on a multi-acre property, you can easily find that as well. Natually, those homes generally exceed $1 million.
Much more affordable houses are also available in the South East Kelowna real estate market. If you're on a tighter budget, but are still seeking a single-family home in an area with a decent amount of space and privacy, you're in luck. One-storey houses on lovely little streets with between 1,000 and 1,500 square feet can be bought for less than $300,000. Plus, you'll still have the advantage of being elevated above most other Kelowna neighbourhoods, giving you an incredible view of Okanagan Lake and the wonderful rolling hills around the city.
Living in South East Kelowna
If the wonderful views aren't enough, living in South East Kelowna will give you easy access to some of the best golf courses and wineries, as well as the most charming fruit stands and convenience stores in the valley.
Numerous hiking and cycling trails are scattered throughout the area, with the most notable being located in Myra Canyon Provincial Park and Scenic Canyon Regional Park. If the name Myra Canyon sounds familiar to you, that's because it's home to the famous Myra Canyon Trestles, which make up a portion of the old Kettle Valley Railway. This is the most notable of the many trails to explore in these two massive parks.
When you're not hiking in this part of Kelowna, you're tasting wine at over a dozen nearby wineries or golfing at either Harvest Golf Club, Gallagher's Canyon Golf Resort, or the 9-hole Pinnacle Course next door.
